The Village of Neosho located in Dodge County Wisconsin is a community proud of its heritage and historical background.
The year 2012 marks a very significant Anniversary.
In the fall of 1887, the men of the Village formed its first ever Fire Company and the first equipment was purchased. Some of this equipment is still on public display in the Old Village Hall Museum.
(Check out the “squirrel tail pumper” and our 1928 Model A Ford Fire Truck.)
To commemorate 125years of continuous, fully volunteer service, Neosho Fire and Rescue will proudly host the 2012 Dodge County Fireman’s Tournament from July 29th through August 5th.
It will be a full week of activity. We start with the Fireman’s Softball Tournament which runs from July 28th through Aug 4th. Each evening elimination rounds will be played at the Hale Road Baseball Park. There is a corn roast and the Dodge County Fire Queen contest at Woodlawn Park on Aug.2nd.
Fireworks appear over Neosho Pond on Saturday, Aug. 4th with a band for an enjoyable evening.
The week culminates with the Parade on Sunday, Aug. 5th beginning at 10:30 A.M.
The Parade will feature the men, women, and equipment from many Dodge County Communities.
Of course, food and beverages will be available at both locations during the Tournament.
Being a firefighter, especially a volunteer, can be a nasty, dirty job and all too often gratitude is not expressed.
Come and join us for the celebration. Take the time to find out who the members of the department are and thank them.
Why not volunteer to help during the Tournament? The more helpers the better – Let’s make this one of the best Dodge County Fireman’s Tournaments ever.
(Oh, by the way – profits will be used to update and replace older equipment.)
